Great interview and questions,a down to earth mood...
It's nice when artists are presented as people instead of a more elevated view. To me, it embraces the idea of an art as a trade- not so much a craft because of the practicality factor. Maybe it's a bit like a typewriter repair person who takes them apart and puts them back together for years, arranging the letters to form a new vocabulary that one fully doesn't understand...every now and then a quack brings one in to be worked on. Luckily the repairman is a specialist and knows the machine better than any... only the patron wants him to arrange the keys properly.
